নিজস্ব প্রতিনিধি : বাংলাদেশ উইমেন ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরাম হল বাংলাদেশ ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরামের একটি সহায়ক বিশেষ সংস্থা। বিআইজিএফ একটি বহুমাত্রিক অংশীজনের সংস্থা যার লক্ষ্য জাতিসংঘ ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরাম (ইউএন আইজিএফ)-এর সাথে সহযোগিতায় বাংলাদেশে ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহারের বিষয়ে আলোকপাত করা এবং ধারণা তৈরি করা। দেশীয় এই স্বাধীন ফোরামটি নাগরিক সমাজ, সংস্থা, সরকার, কর্পোরেট সেক্টর, প্রযুক্তি বিষয়ক ক্ষেত্র, মিডিয়া এবং একাডেমিয়াকে অংশীদারিত্ব, জোট এবং সংলাপ তৈরি করতে সম্পৃক্ত করেছে যা সর্বোত্তম অনুশীলনগুলি প্রদর্শন করে এবং আমাদের নীতিকে
এগিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে সহায়তা করে।
বাংলাদেশ উইমেন ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরাম (বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ) একটি লিঙ্গ-সমতার দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি নিশ্চিত করার জন্য ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স বিষয়ক বিষয়বস্তু নিয়ন্ত্রণ, গোপনীয়তা, প্রবেশাধিকার এবং মত প্রকাশের স্বাধীনতার মতো মূল বিতর্কগুলিতে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হয়েছে। অন্যদের মধ্যে, জোট গঠন বিআইজিএফ এবং আইজিএফ এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট ফোরামে নারীদেও অংশগ্রহণ দৃশ্যমান করা এবং তা প্রচার করা। আইজিএফ বিতর্কের প্রধান বিষয়গুলিতে গবেষণা এবং ইনপুট পরিচালনা করা; জেন্ডার অ্যাডভোকেটদের সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধিতে সহায়তা করা এবং লিঙ্গ ও তথ্য সমাজের স্থানীয়, আঞ্চলিক এবং বৈশ্বিক উদ্যোগের মধ্যে আরও কার্যকর যোগসূত্র উন্নীত করা।
বাংলাদেশে ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরাম (বিআইজএফ) এর উদ্যোগে বাংলাদেশ উইমেন ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরাম সদস্যদের জন্য ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স বিষয়ক এক প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালার আয়োজন করে। ৮ এপ্রিল ২০২৩ তারিখে ঢাকায় দিনব্যাপী এই প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মশালায় বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন ফারহা মাহমুদ তৃণা, সেক্রেটারি বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ। বাংলাদেশ ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স ফোরামের সেক্রেটারি জেনারেল মোহাম্মদ আবদুল হক অনু বিআইজিএফ এর কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে আলোচনা করেন। বিএনএনআরসি-এর সিইও এএইচএম বজলুর রহমান রাষ্ট্র, বাজার ও সমাজ: সরকার এবং শাসন, শাসন বলতে কী বোঝায়? শাসনের সংজ্ঞা/শাসনের প্রকার, রাজনৈতিক/সামাজিক/অর্থনৈতিক/ডিজিটাল গভর্নেন্স, সুশাসন, ডিজিটাল গভর্নেন্স এবং ডিজিটাল ইকোসিস্টেম নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।
খাজা মোঃ আনাস খান, কান্ট্রি ম্যানেজার, গিগাবাইট টেকনোলজি কোং লিমিটেড অংশগ্রহণকারীদের স্বাগত জানান এবং নারীদের সকল ক্ষেত্রেই সমানভাবে দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধিতে এগিয়ে আসার জন্য আহবান জানান। শারমিন ইসরায়েল তানিয়া, যুগ্ম সচিব বাংলাদেশ উইমেন ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স (বিডব্লিউআইজিএফ) এর উইমেন আইজিএফ-এর লক্ষ্য উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মানিত অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন নাগরিক টিভির চিফ রিপোর্টার শাহনাজ শারমীন এবং নিউজ টোয়েনটিফোর টিভির প্রধান বার্তা সম্পাদক শাহনাজ মুন্নী। ইন্টারনেটে নারীদের সমান অংশগ্রহণ ও ইন্টারনেটকে ব্যবহার করে এসডিজি ৫ অর্জনে সবাইকে এগিয়ে আসতে হবে এবং নিজ নিজ ক্ষেত্রে দক্ষতা বৃদ্ধির উপর গুরুত্বারোপ করেন।
অনুষ্ঠানে বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ও গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সাবেক সচিব মোঃ নাসির উদ্দিন আহমেদ, যুগ্ম আহবায়ক সম্প্রীতি বাংলাদেশ। তিনি দেশের উন্নয়নে নারীদেও আরো অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালনের আহবান জানান এবং বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ এর নতুন কমিটিকে স্বাগত জানান।
প্রধান অতিথি আফরোজা হক রিনা, এমপি, উপদেষ্টা, বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ নারীদের অগ্রগতিতে ইন্টারনেটের ভূমিকা এবং নারীদের জন্য একটি সুবিধাজনক পরিবেশ এবং সকল নারীর জন্য সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যের ইন্টারনেট যা নারীদের জীবন উন্নত করার জন্য বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। কর্মশালায় অংশগ্রহণকারীদের জন্য অনেক নতুন ধারণা অন্বেষণ করা সম্ভব হয়েছে এবং ইন্টারনেট গভর্নেন্স সম্পর্কে বিভিন্ন প্রকার জ্ঞান লাভ করা সম্ভব হয়েছে। সবশেষে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা মুক্ত আলোচনায় অংশ গ্রহণ করেন।
কর্মশালার অংশ্রগহণকারীদের ধন্যবাদ এবং এই কর্মশালা আয়োজনে পরোক্ষ এবং প্রত্যক্ষভাবে যারা সহযোগিতা করেছেন তাদের সকলকে আন্তরিক ধন্যবাদ জানিয়ে এবং ভবিষ্যতে সবাইকে সাথে নিয়ে বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করবে এই আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করে কর্মশালার সমাপ্তি ঘোষণা করেন বাংলাদেশ উইমেন আইজিএফ এর সভাপতি শামীমা আখতার।
BWIGF Training Workshop on Internet Governance held
Bangladesh Women Internet Governance Forum is a subsidiary special body of Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum. BIGF is a multi-stakeholder organization aimed to illuminate issues and create ideas on internet usage in Bangladesh in association with the UN Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF). This domestic independent forum has engaged civil society, organizations, government, corporate sectors, technical sectors, media and academia to create partnerships, coalitions and dialogues that demonstrate best practices and help us to move the policy forward.
Bangladesh Women Internet Governance Forum (BWIGF) to ensure a gender perspective is included in the key debates around internet governance issues, such as content regulation, privacy, access, and freedom of expression among others. Among others, the coalition wants to promote women’s visibility at the BIGF and IGF and related fora; to conduct research and input on the main topics of IGF debates; to support capacity building of gender advocates and to promote more effective linkages between local, regional and global initiatives on gender and information society.
The Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF) organized a day-long Training Workshop on Internet Governance for the Bangladesh Women’s Internet Governance Forum on 8 April 2023 in Dhaka. The workshop was moderated by Farha Mahmud Trina, Secretary General Bangladesh Women IGF.

Shahnaz Sharmeen, Chief Reporter of Nagorik TV and Shahnaz Munni, Chief News Editor of News 24 TV were present as guests of honor on the occasion. They emphasized the equal participation of women in the Internet and the use of the Internet to achieve SDG 5 should be promoted by all and emphasis on skill development in their respective fields.
Former Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Md. Nasir Uddin Ahmed and Joint Convenor Sampreeti Bangladesh was present as special guests at the event. He called on women to play a more leading role in the development of the country and welcomed the new committee of Bangladesh Women IGF. Chief Guest Afroza Haq Rina, MP, Adviser, Bangladesh Women IGF discussed the role of the internet in the advancement of women and an enabling environment for women and affordable internet for all women to improve the lives and livelihood of women.
The workshop participants were able to explore many new ideas and gain a variety of knowledge about Internet governance. Finally, the participants took part in an open discussion. Access to the Internet is extremely important for women to be able to gain information that may not be available to them otherwise. This will also facilitate them to achieve the full realization of their rights, especially in the case of those from marginalized communities. The Internet can also function as the harbinger of citizenship rights, bridging their right to be informed with the duty of the governance institutions to inform.

AHM Bazlur Rahman, CEO, of Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC), discusses the State, Market & Society: Government and Governance, what does governance mean? Definitions of Governance/Types of Governance, Political/Social/Economical/ Digital Governance, Good Governance, Digital Governance & Digital Ecosystem The participants took part in the open discussion. After the wrap-up of the workshop, the chairperson of the Bangladesh Women IGF, Shamima Akhter gave a vote of thanks to the participants and closed the workshop and BWIGF will move forward towards achieving the goal.
